At Especially 4 Pets, we monitor your dog’s social skill growth and development carefully and adjust their assigned playgroups as they mature to help them continue developing their social skills with a wide variety of dogs in a safe and fun environment.  Your dog will enjoy one of our 500 to 1000 square foot playrooms where they will learn to hone social skills with other dogs of similar temperament and energy level. Our facility is always monitored by staff that are trained in dog behaviour and body language.

Rest times are built in throughout the day. This is an important feature of our daycare as it teaches the dog to settle and reinforces break periods interspersed with play - something that socially savvy dogs instinctively know how to do to keep the energy peaceful in the pack. Rested dogs tend to play just as enthusiastically during each play period as when they first arrived in the morning. This means that they burn more energy and as a result, they go home tired, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing evening with your pet.

Your dog will be taken outside throughout day to relieve himself and get some fresh air before his next playtime.

We keep detailed notes on your dog's progress so that we are always on top of any changes in their behaviour or health status. We work with you to deliver the best care for them as their needs change.

The next step will be to set up your pup's assessment day.  This is an opportunity for us to get to know her, and assess how we will place her in our various playgroups. It generally starts with 1-on-1 time with Zack, the owner and daycare lead, to get to know each other.  Once he has a feel for her temperament and energy, he will introduce her to other similar dogs in small groups.  Some dogs are very comfortable and go straight into the pack - that will depend on your dog. 

We generally request that dogs arrive after 9:00 on their first day.  There's a lot of action/energy between 7 and 9 as everyone is getting dropped off, and that can be stressful for a dog's first day - we want to make sure her first experience here is a positive one.  It also allows Zack more time to chat with you about your dog and how we'll work together to ensure she has a great day every day!  Dogs are welcome to stay for the day after their assessment.
